Harrington Brooks have been awarded Bronze Status by Investors In People following an on-site audit. We were very close to achieving silver status, which on an initial audit, is very good.
Investors In People
Launched in 1991, Investors in People is the UK’s leading people management standard. It specialises in transforming business performance through people. Over a third of the UK’s workforce uses Investors in People today, and employers do so because they see a number of real business benefits.
The Auditing Process
A percentage of staff from across the company, from all levels, were selected by the assessors and interviewed about their experience of working for Harrington Brooks. No one other than those present knows what they were asked; all we know is what the results were – which reflected very positively on our company and how we operate with respect to our staff. It shows we value our employer’s ideas and opinions and offer suitable training when required.
Matt Cheetham, Harrington Brooks’ CEO comments:
“It’s rewarding that our work is formally recognised. We are doing it because investing in people, and by that I mean recruiting the right people, training properly, ongoing performance management, continuing personal development etc will ultimately lead to staff staying longer and greater productivity. This will lead to a better business for us all, including most importantly, our customers.”
Ann Stuart, head for HR at Harrington Brooks co-ordinated the visit and did much of the preparation.
“We have grown from 120 staff 4 years ago to 320 now. We are doing this as we want to be the employer of choice in debt management sector; we are the only employer who has achieved the bronze award and we will be targeting the gold award.”
Established in 1997, Harrington Brooks is one of the UK’s leading debt resolution providers. We are currently helping approximately 26,000 people repay credit by debt management plans and we have a further 7,000 clients on an IVA (Individual Voluntary Arrangement) with us.
