Harrington Brooks celebrates Investors in People silver accreditation

The One Advice Group, which includes Harrington Brooks, have been awarded Silver status in a recent Investors in People (IIP) review. We welcomed Kevin Mellor, Investors in People specialist, who interviewed 10% of the Groups employees to get an overall picture of our workplace – and asses the investment we have put into our people, processes and infrastructure.

During the interviews, Kevin asked our employees questions based on the IIP quality framework. He wanted to know what it’s like to work within Harrington Brooks and give us a score based on his findings. An IIP review is a great way to see how we compare against other companies while giving us a direction on how to improve.

The framework is used to give high quality feedback and also highlight  improvements that could be made. One thing that has come from the award is the knowledge that we’re effectively managing our people.

During their interviews, our employees gave Kevin their thoughts and feelings. Some of the key messages that came from these interviews were:

  • Our employees have faith in the leadership team
  • An important part of our culture is to ensure the quality of our service is high
  • They recognise the change in our culture across the business as a whole
  • FCA regulation is beneficial for the long term future of the company
  • New ideas are welcomed, which lead to positive future outcomes

Receiving this accreditation is terrific news, but more importantly helps guide our new ‘people plan’. Over the next three years, we will be using the outputs and actions from the review to help improve on what we have already achieved. And more importantly help deliver an even better service to all of our customers.
