The Government have announced new measures which aim to help the elderly or vulnerable with the rising costs of fuel bills.
These proposals will help those suffering from fuel poverty to improve their energy efficiency and make surwe that they on the best value tariff with their energy providers. Energy regulator Ofgem determine “Fuel Poverty” as when energy bills consume more than 10% of the household income.
Environment Minister Phil Woolas said: “Household bills are rising and purse strings are tightening. Encouraging energy efficiency is crucial because it really does cut costs – especially for those who can least afford energy price hikes.”
